Anti-wrinkle* injections are a safe and effective modality in the treatment of anti-ageing and skin rejuvenation. They have been used in cosmetic applications and medical procedures for well over 10years without any reported long-term side effects. They are most commonly used to treat wrinkles and lines of the face generally caused through muscle contraction but are also known for their ability to reduce excessive sweating of the underarms & minimise teeth clenching.
Anti-wrinkle injections are made up of a natural, purified protein which cause the muscle to relax producing a younger, smoother & revitalised appearance.
Results can be seen in as little as 4 days after initial treatment, they can last up to 3months however with continued application at suggested regular intervals results will last longer than this due to the muscle becoming weakened and therefore the wrinkle is significantly reduced. Where no subsequent treatment is performed the muscle contraction returns to normal function and the wrinkle will return.

Generally, only a few side effects are experienced by some patients. These include bruising and redness of the area treated. This can be covered with make up and will disperse relatively fast.
Some other side effects that have been noted are asymmetrical results, insufficient change to the wrinkles, puffy eyes and a drooping mouth corner.
Approximately 1% of people experience partial eyelid droop when having the frown lines. This effect is temporary and can last around 1 month but will then rectify itself and return to normal.
The injections are performed using a very fine needle so there is minimal discomfort associated with the treatment. A topical numbing cream can be applied if you prefer, please speak with Dr Oksana before your session if you require this so enough time can be allocated.
Most people can resume normal activity immediately after treatment with some experiencing only mild erythema (redness) of the area treated.
It is recommended that you not exercise, lie down, or touch the treated areas for 4 hours after treatment
Like many procedures it is not recommended you have any injectable treatments whilst you are pregnant or lactating.
Each patient will require a different amount of solution injected into the muscles to achieve their desired results so there is no exact amount of injection used to treat any specific area. Before treatment is commenced Dr Oksana will perform a complete skin analysis and discuss your concerns in depth to ensure your expectations are met. She will comprise a treatment plan individually for you and provide you with an accurate quote.
